Part LA:
Firefighters' Pension Fund

Part LA was added to the FPS with effect from 1 April 2006. It explains the financing of the FPS by means of a "Firefighters' Pension Fund".

Rule LA1 sets the requirements for the setting up, maintenance and operation of the Fund.

Rules LA2 and LA3 deal with transfers of money into and out of the Fund.

Rules LA4 to LA8 deal with surpluses and deficits.

Rule LA9 sets out the duty to provide information to the Secretary of State and Rule LA10 requires the fire and rescue authority to have regard to guidance on matters relating to the Fund as issued from time to time by the Secretary State.
